Could the 330s be going in for new seats (i.e. PS)? Or maybe KLM is running enough capacity that DL doesn't need a 330.
KLM has run 747 Kombi and 787 on this (and sometimes a 777, IIRC). The Queen is retiring (abdicating?
) soon but check what is running in the Fall. I managed a couple of upgrades to WBC on the 787 and liked it quite a bit.
And yes, the LAX-LHR was a 767 -- used one of my first GUCs on it when it first ran...
