I will be arriving BOM from JFK on Delta and then leaving BOM for AMD on AI 3 hours later in the same terminal. These are two separate PNRs. I know that I will have to clear immigration and retrieve my checked bag in BOM. My question is, do I then head for the transfer desk to recheck my bag for my AI flight, or do I basically "leave" the airport and come back into BOM like I'm a newly arriving passenger?
