I just got an email from embassy that PCC has been initiated. Are we still required to be physically present in India for police verification even if we submit the application and verification via embassy? I'm not sure how this police verification will proceed. If they still want us to be physically present despite the application through the Indian embassy, then there is no point applying and wasting 46.95$ for this mind boggling process.
As far as I know, police would go to your home address mentioned in the application and verify that you are a legit person (From your parents, watchman, neighbors) and that is your permanent home. Also, It totally depends on the officer how he/she takes this into his/her hands as this is a new process since Oct 2019.
I submitted my application to CKGS at SF on Jan 28th, 2020 and it is currently Under Process at Embassy since 2 weeks now.
Do you remember when did your application move from 'Under Process' at Embassy to PCC has been initiated? How long did it take? Thanks.
