Hello!

I do not have experience with group travel via a TA or tour operator; however, I do have experience as a Premier with United Groups. I must warn you I got conflicting information every time I called the United Group Desk. As a Platinum at the time I was eligible for Economy Plus +8. One person told me I was only eligible for myself and one companion. Another person told me I could only be moved to Economy Plus at the 24-hour mark. Another reservationist did move myself and multiple companions (other teachers, it was a school trip) to Economy Plus for both the outbound and return (so there went the 24-hour mark commentary). In order to do so she had to split those of us being moved to Economy Plus off from the original PNR thereby creating a new, separate reservation. The plus to this was that we were able to check all the bags in our names and save on the bag fees for the group. I'm not sure what the actual policy is since I got such conflicting information when calling in over the course of time. Perhaps it is a best practice for Premiers to only split two off because that should, in theory, allow them to maintain eligibility for the upgrade processing.
