We have been upgraded on our last 2 stays to the Duplex Suite and would choose that every time. 2 bathrooms, lots of room (we get upstairs, kids get down), nice sized dining table for when we grab food from Pinky. Only downside to me was the lack of outlets by the bed. I noticed no mold, and finishes were in good shape. Furniture was fine also. I've been in non-renovated rooms which I walked out of - ours were nowhere like that here. We also didn't mind not having pool access, especially after having it in a different resort and not caring about it.

​​​That being said, I haven't seen the renovated rooms, and maybe the extra space and bathroom are not important, but pool access is to you. For us, we love the Duplex!
