+1 on this. had this very experience last week when I switched to a later flight back from EWR-SFO that was polarized. would always choose the angled seats in the middle vs the straight ones if I can't get a single seat when traveling on my own - offers a real separation between the two seats so i like the design of this aircraft and beats the 2-4-2 configuration any day of the week.
