I've never heard of it either, but 4.5 JFK-SFO roundtrips in F would get you more than the 40k EQMs you would need for MVP Gold status on AS. While Gold isn't the highest AS elite level (75k is), it does give you free ticket changes/cancelations. Another 4 roundtrips would get you to 75k.
