Stayed 4 nights here during a recent holiday. A perfectly fine place to sleep, but definitely not luxurious and mediocre location. Was upgraded a day out to a suite, but when I arrived the room (on the 3rd floor) looked at the office building next door. I asked for another room, even if it wasn't a suite with a better view, which was given. The AC worked decently well (got down to about 19C, still a bit above my optimal temperature). The regency club is open air to the giant atrium but never really noticed much noise. The larger problem was the AC. In fact, within the whole hotel the AC was somewhat nonexistent. My mobile thermometer registered 35C at some points. They actually moved the regency club reception to the lobby restaurant 2 nights I was there because of the heat on the 11th floor. Now, Perth was seeing record heat during my stay, but I'd never experienced hotel AC that bad.

As for the rest of the stay, breakfast was on offer in the main restaurant and as a globalist got the whole buffet upgrade for free. In addition, the evening reception was perfectly fine, with some nibbles (nothing substantial to make a meal) and house spirits, beer, and decent wine. Service in the lobby bar was good, though the food and drink menu was a bit uninspired (I didn't eat any meals aside from breakfast). Several of the F&B outlets seemed to be closed most of the time and the hotel seemed pretty dead. The pool area is fine, but nothing luxurious. The location for the hotel is ok for business if you're needing to be in CBD, but it's not near anything else touristy, though a quick bus/uber and you're there.

I had booked this hotel because of a great paid rate instead of the newly opened Ritz Carlton. I ended up having dinner and drinks at the Ritz and kind of wished I'd stayed there instead.
