But to the end, most people still chose to go to PHNY. From the very beginning, it puzzles me. Now I get the answer. PHNY is the only Cat-7 Hyatt in the Northeast USA. Here are the other Hyatt hotels in NYC:
Park Hyatt NY: Cat-7, $795
Andaz 5th Ave: Cat-6. $372
Parker NY: Cat-6. $192
Hyatt Centric TS: Cat-6, $289
Hyatt Union Square: Cat-6, $429
GH NY: Cat-5, $204
It is very clear how and why most of us still chose PHNY. It is not the location, room, food, upgrade, service or quality, but the $795 rack price.... Only PHNY stands out. Some people are even closer to Andaz, but they chose to book PHNY just because it is the most expensive "luxury" Hyatt hotel in the Northeast USA and they get the most bang of the green buck for the Cat-7 FN. The 2nd choice Andaz has smaller room, not that luxury. And it has fewer suites for possible upgrade. There is no club lounge and and does not have as good the breakfast as at PHNY.
Now it is clear to me why so many people here actually do not like PHNY or hate PHNY, but still choose to check in at PHNY. Then they come back to complain day and night, every time.....
I don’t understand why you’re still “puzzled,” since it’s been explained to you over and over again. The people who keep booking at PHNY seem to keep doing so because they love the hard product and/or location. I’m in that group myself.
Also, unless PHNY suddenly got more popular, it’s been common to see it at $550/night with the third or fourth night free, which averages out to about the same as the Andaz. (This promo is still listed on the site, but I didn’t play with the dates to see the best current deals.)
