There's nothing to stop you using the *A Gold lounge, you don't have to be crediting your trip to the programme of which you are a member. I credit my miles to SQ have no status with SQ but Gold with United and I use it to get lounge access all the time. Mind you, depending on the terminal, Gold lounges are pretty ordinary
