IIRC, even voluntary pre-origination date/time (but not routing/carrier) changes don't incur fees on *A awards. If your connection is now "illegal," you should have no problem getting a fee-waived routing change, too, if necessary. If the post-schedule change cxn is still "legal," though, I'd take my chances with it.
