After 1h wait on hold, and talking to a friendly agent, I got CX to reroute me. They are willing to give the direct AC flight in both direction. For going via LAX or SFO, it took the agent to obtain authorization from a supervisor, but that did go through.
As a reminder for those who have not read my previous messages, this is for a ticket issued by CX and that had HKG-YVR o YVR-JFK o JFK-YVR o YVR-HKG.
I am happy about CX's dealing with this in a reasonable manner. I still will have to pay change fees on my existing positioning tickets to/from YVR but I have a solution that is fairly satisfying.
First time poster booked on CX 865-888 JFK-YVR return in mid March. Do I understand your post correctly - CX booked you on the direct Air Canada EWR-YVR flight? Same class? My CX flight was Premium using Asia Miles for upgrades wonder if they would do the same for me.
