Dont know but our stays in the past at Asia properties they all give benefits on the higher status guest in the same room. I also called BonVoy a couple times last Fall to verify that, the reps told me just to let the FD know about it, there was no need to add my name to the reservation. It turned out worked as explained.

Though in all cases I book from my account first, then the additional nights from my husband's, just to make it easier to work with the FD. We have not tried on one night stay. Will find out this time!

I added my name/status/BonVoy Number in the "Special Request" space and hope for the best, Turned out this is the only night at standard rate - all nights before and after are Peak rates in May.. We are lucky - would rather use up a cert expiring in early June then go for the elite benefit. The rest of certs expire in Dec so we have opportunity to use them on one stay with mine being the first.
