I ask because it sure makes nice headlines but honestly I see the service for DL declining (albeit slowly) year over year so if there is no incentive to perform better it seems like the profit sharing bonus will not make the experience better for the customer and just a way to hope to retain employees.

Also as I sit on an extremely old plane right now with many things broken at the seat it reminds me that maybe that money is better spent on new planes or seriously upgrading/remodeling the planes.

Edit: this post is not meant to be Anti DL so nobody get upset that I am saying anything against DL this is merely observations that I wonder if others have seen or not.

OK, so you're on a plane that needs a refurb. Your proposal is to fund that by reducing profit share?

Look, DL has not had declining service in recent years. It has been constant, if not slightly improving. What probably has happened, however, is you've become accustomed to their strong service. This makes it more noticable when something isn't good.

Back when I flew AA, I became accustomed to missing PDBs all the time. So when I shifted to Delta, I was impressed that I nearly always got them. Now that this is my new baseline/expectation, I get frustrated when I don't get one.
