Why aren't we using our energy to make a change?!
Here we are, some of the heaviest flyers and yet, we aren't harnessing our energy to make a productive change about this. Personally, I am sick and tired of being "nickled and dimed" to death for nothing. I have posted previously that I can't think of any other industry that charges a SURCHARGE once you've purchased their product and then REDUCES the level of product e.g., no food, no real "service" once you're on the airplane, hassles while you travel (try travelling through RDU and you'll understand what I'm talking about), no appreciation for the customer at all. I understand that UAL needs to make $$. I am all for it. But doing it at the expense of pissing off your customers doesn't seem to be good management. Just because "all of the other airlines are doing it" (which is what I was told this AM) doesn't mean that it is right. And, for the record, Southwest and JetBlue are NOT doing it.
So. .. why aren't we, as a group, making a production out of this? FAX like crazy to HQ explaining that charging $5 to purchase their product makes NO sense and we don't like it.
Anybody in with me to FAX on Monday, SEPTEMBER 20 to UAL WHQ a letter saying that you are AGAINST this? I'm figuring that if all of the posters to this board fax and get one other person to fax at least it will cause a bit of havoc and make our position known. . .*sigh* some of you may think this is just "don quixotism" but at some point we need to stop complaining/whining and take some kind of action . ..anybody with me?
