i did try both calling and 'chatting' with agents, the best they could offer was a refund of the miles and taxes, and i could look to rebook on another airline IF there is award space. However, since i only used 60k miles per ticket and i got 3 of them, all i can get is economy for those miles (maybe one or two of us could get business class, but not all 3).

I guess i am stuck waiting it out and if it happens to get cancelled or Australia bans Hong Kong flights, we will have to find lesser seats last minute. I wish i could just be switched to a partner in the same class but it does not look like that is going to happen. This was truly the holy grail when i booked these tickets.
