I just got back from dinner at “Cheers” (the restaurant/bar in the Grand Hyatt Taipei lobby). I must agree I second “Fly Me To The Moon”'s experience. It was a major hassle to get the 1000 HGP promo bonus points for dining at an Asian Hyatt restaurant. I got the bill, provided the server with the code (just like the offer said to), and from there it took me about 20 minutes to get the points settled (if they even got settled). Not at all worth it, it was a poorly run promotion. They should not have a promo if it is not possible to simply input the Promo Code and then everything is good. My server had to bring over the Restaurant Manager who herself didn’t even understand the promo. While I was waiting I brought up the offer from the link on FT on my laptop which I had with me. The manager said I needed an physical paper certificate to get the points. I showed her that no, all I need to do is quote the offer code. By that time, the manager had called in two Hyatt employees from the front desk that were familiar with Hyatt Goldpassport. This was getting to be a big ordeal and was getting to be slightly embarrassing as I felt like some cheapskate trying to get some fraudulent coupon to work all the while with 3 employees looking over my table and situation in the middle of the restaurant. Finally they said they would take care of it and forward the points request to the front desk. Whether of not I actually get the points, I dunno, I’d give it a 50/50 chance. I’d put my chances at 10% at getting the points if I didn’t have my laptop with me to actually bring up the promo. They had no idea about it and the promo has been going on for a couple months already. I should have just eaten dinner in the Grand Club, they had these outstanding Beef Tenderloin skewers tonight along with smoked salmon and Thai shrimp. Delicious, I shoulda had more. Great Club!! ^ ^ ^ ^

My advice: Don’t take advantage of this promo, IT’S NOT WORTH THE AGGRAVATION!!!! Disclaimer: I have no right to complain about this promo as I don't even have an HSBC Credit Card, but nobody ever asked for a credit card since I told them I wanted to charge it to my room.
