If you go diving along the ridge where the whale sharks frequent you'll find yourself 30mtrs down along a shelf with nothing but abyss dropping off on the other side as well. It's pretty cool in that situation, to be honest.
But yes, there's absolutely no reason for anyone to be out by that wavebreak. It's too shallow to snorkel in the lagoon, there's no real life to see, and the broken coral can cut you up pretty well.
Plus you spoil the view for people on their decks!
Oh wow. Now that would be pretty cool. We just went on the whale shark excursion a few times (snorkelling) but never went diving with them - where is that ridge that they bring you to dive with them?
