I am perplexed that Schiphol don't pay more attention to the maintenance of their moving walkways. They are, imo, the Achilles heel of the airport. Schiphol's reputation as a convenient transfer hub is largely based on the notion that you can walk easily from one flight to another without having to take a bus or train to another terminal. The downside to that is that walking distances at Schiphol can be rather long. As long as the moving walkways work, it is not really noticeable but if they don't, it really does become a pain and Schiphol's USP is rather weakened.
