I've flown AMS-YVR on KL and YVR-OGG on WS. Our checked bags were sent through, although had to be checked by US Customs - I realise it's not the same, but they were included in the fare. KLM specifically mentioned this in the booking, per leg. Shouldn't see a problem, as long as you make sure it's part of the ticket conditions as mentioned before.
