I use Plex a lot so when I'm travelling I tend to sync content to my iPad for watching offline (i.e. on a plane, lounge, train, wherever).

I tend to pack an old Apple TV 2, remote and HDMI cable which does a great job in hotel rooms. No need to connect it to the hotel wifi, as my iPad will connect vIa AirPlay to the ATV and I therefore pickup where I left off in the room on the big screen.

Works for me.
