I think you can find a studio for 5k, maybe a 1BR for 8k (exclusive of water, electricity) on a 6 month lease, in the Sukhumvit (soi 4/6) area. Maybe paying down 1 or 2 months rent. Try asking at Saranjai Mansions on Soi 6.
