I stayed here for a few nights recently. Nice upgrade to a full suite. Theres a few wear and tear issues which are only due to the quality of the materials used. Some loose bits on the door handle, doors not closing properly-not really a big deal given the rates.
The lounge gives you a proper feed if thats your thing, and clearly how the hotel is packaged to the corporate guests who stay here, especially Accenture employees. The quality of hot food is excellent, cold food never really varies. Considering how low the standard dropped once upon a time, its good to see branded spirits and four garnishes, grapefruit, oranges, lemons and limes.
The attendant Jarosław (named after Comrade
Kaczyński perhaps), can't do enough to help. I noticed a skinny old man, they identified as the owner, is living in the hotel and eats dinner in the lounge.
Lounge 06:00-20:00 and dinner from 16:30 to 20:00.
I don't know what it is exactly, but I just dislike the breakfast and always have. The omelettes are really poor, like pizzas and while there is a lot of food, little of it is to my taste. Loads of smoked fish, but its smoked mackerel & herring in cream sauce and not even the Comrade's touch it. A lot of the buffet is cold, especially the potato cakes. I'd say the Hampton has a better breakfast as due to the volume of guests and the "unlimited buffet mentality" of some guests, plus, its more fresh and hot. Given its so cheap to eat out, I often skip the breakfast and have something tasty in town.
The Mall next to the hotel is completely shut down. Only the post office, supermarket, cinema and bowling alley are in operation. It's really the middle of nowhere. Taxis and Uber are nevertheless very cheap.
I'm really looking forward to the Curio finally opening. I'd recommend the Bachleda Hotel for a truly premium experience in Krakow but for the money, DT Krakow can't be beaten.
