Could I have a little advise on seat choice and having searched for the seat concerned can't find it occuring, but apologies if it has been answered elsewhere.
I'm travelling on the 777-300 LHR - PHX (and back) in WT.
Historically I've always waited till check in to choose my seat and travelling that route when it was the 747 I didn't really have a problem with the seat I'd have chosen but am aware that BA may not offer me an aisle. I'm now thinking about booking a seat and not being familiar with the layout other than the reviews here I wanted to ask for some views.
I'm someone who would rather be disturbed than disturb when it comes to visiting the 'facilities'. On my flight row 28 at the front is unavailable as usual. 29C and 29H have also been booked. Does 29B allow me to get out of my seat without disturbing the person in 29C given there is no 28C. I also like the idea that I might be able to sneak a little more legroom putting one leg in the right side of 28B (obviously with 29Cs permission as I don't want to be an inconsiderate traveller). The alternative to 29B would be row 37 (not fussed which of those as I wouldn't disturb anyone getting up)
Coming back I would also have the options of 29C and H as they haven't been booked yet.
Views / advice welcome and thank you in advance.
First of all welcome to Flyertalk and here on the BA Board
Washborne and thanks for your question
.
I've been in this seat before but more so on the 777-200 which has an identical set up (but a different row number and as I understand 29C and 29H are only available to Silver and oneworld equivalents and above as it's a plum seat by far in economy)
You really can't put your leg from 29B (or 29J) into the open space belonging to 29 C (or 29H) and personally I wouldn't ask as it's that persons leg space so that's a definite real no no I'd say. Assuming your a solo traveller I wouldn't pick a middle seat either but from either of those middle seats you can easily get out. All the other person has to do is swing their legs to the side but it's probably easier for them just to stand up.
I would imagine at online check in there would be an aisle somewhere to choose from.
I wouldn't choose row 28 (bassinet row) if it does open up as there is a bulkhead there so you can't really fully stretch out unless your not very tall.
The other options are to see if any exit seats open up, they're worth paying for in my view if you don't have status as they give unlimited legroom or even consider an AUP (Airport Paid Upgrade, more details in the BA Forum Dashboard)
The return if you can reserve 29C or H then yes definitely book them but as I understand it, it may have possibly changed, 29C and H were only available to status holders. BA Silver card holders and one world equivalents. You have status?
This is a very good guide for seat maps. Ignore Seat Guru!
