Location is good - of course it depends what you want to do but it's the most central of all the London Marriotts. Walking distance to Paddington (Heathrow Express) and Oxford Street and on to Soho if you've got a good pair of legs. It's been refurbished recently but don't get too excited. Just a refresh of carpets, wallpaper and bathroom. The wood furniture is old and makes the room still look a bit shabby. No meaningful upgrade (the 10th floor for me) but breakfast can be taken in the lounge or pub-style restaurant. I arrived at 8am and was able to check in so I got breakfast in the lounge that day and downstairs the other two days. The evening food in the lounge is not as extensive as the Marriott Maida Vale and the wine and beer is served to you glass by glass rather than self serve which I find annoying (no reflection on the lounge staff - she was great - but I'd rather just help myself... they're hardly premium drinks). There's an indoor pool and gym in the basement if these things are important to you. Was offered a late check out but didn't need it.

I'd stay again. Nothing bad here. Nothing extraordinary or stand-out either.
thanks for the update....this is the closest marriott hotel to where i need to be so its the main reason i booked it....i like the edgware road / marble arch area....i used to have an apartment in bilton towers, which is very close to the hotel, so i am very comfortable with the area....

i understand this property has no suites so any type of an upgrade would be perfectly acceptable....don't know how much i'll be able to use the lounge but i'm glad this hotel has one....i'll make good use of the pool everyday so that's another plus....
