Perhaps deploying the middle seat tray table for a similar and more usable space? Keep in mind we've only had the middle table for couple of years since the Pinnacle seat was introduced. Before that the converter style seats didn't have a central table either. While aesthetically I agree it makes the Club Europe product look a little bit more substantial, in reality I've not ever found the middle table a particularly useful space - other than to hide stuff under in row 1 during taxi, take off and landing.
