I’m flying from Nelson NZ to the USA later this year, and have booked with QF (none of the flights are on QF metal, if it’s relevant). Will Air NZ in Nelson check us and our luggage all the way through, or will I need to check in again in AKL? It’s all on one PNR.

I’m a bit concerned as we have a 2 hour connection in AKL, and check in closes 90 minutes before departure. That leaves me with 30 minutes to land, collect luggage, transfer to the international terminal, and check in, if not checked all the way through from NSN.

Qantas actually lists AirNZ as a partner for domestic travel in NZ so I would assume this means you can check your bags through all the way.

If its on one PNR you should be ok for the connection time. That is, they wouldn't allow a ticket with insufficient connection, and if there is a delay to your inbound flight they'll have to take care of you.
