I think that was in response to the suggestion that the OP’s partner order a special meal too, so that both SPMLs are served at roughly the same time. I took the OP to be saying that whilst their ideal would be to have the ‘standard’ meal and SPML served together, they would rather be served separately than (to paraphrase) ‘inflict’ a special meal on their partner.
Ultimately it’s an airline meal & I’m sure the OP agrees it is a ‘first world problem’ really - I took them to be seeking to understand if it would be possible rather than suggesting it would be a major inconvenience if it couldn’t be easily done.
