Thumbs up Sq 35 lax sin (jan. 10)

Woke up early for the 9.15am departure out of LAX - which means I didn't have breakfast in the hotel & after check in - went to the LAX Star Alliance lounge for a bite.
It's a beautiful lounge & definitely an easy place to spend 2 hours in.
They even served a choice of noodle soups for breakfast but the only drawback was that the soup was not hot enough, so the noddles dish ended up being lukewarm
No champagnes, only sparkling wines in the lounge
The staff in the lounge were just mediocre - I had to track down someone to ask for a new bottle of sparkling wine & she was busy helping herself to the coffee at the espresso machine ... errm right, Dishes were not cleared after guests had eaten & were left on the tables & it looked messy.
The only standout was Ms. T who has been working for the ground services / airline for more than a decade
You instantly recognize her as she is the only friendly & helpful staff in the lounge.

Meal pics

I didn't eat immediately after take off, as I requested to take a nap first.
I woke up a few hours later & asked to be served my BTC meal - which I had ordered twice for both meals - there weren't any other dishes I like on the BTC menu.

SQ 35 LAX - SIN
Lunch : Book The Cook - Peppered fillet mignon with mustard jus
Refreshment : Special Meals - Seafood Meal
Book The Cook - Peppered fillet mignon with mustard jus
Not sure what the refreshment item was, as I was not served it.

I ordered the tofu dish with brown rice, pork belly with fried rice as well as the nasi lemak (with brown rice) from the menu to try.
It was a lot of food even though I had asked to be served a smaller "tasting" portion.
Anyway it was all extras from after the 1st meal service so everyone had their meal choice.
I had requested that my meals be plated with any sauce or gravy on the side but it took the cabin crew in the galley (it was a very friendly flight steward) a 3rd try before they managed to execute my request.
Check out the gravy on the pork belly!

Wine list
Not a good selection - SQ should invest more into their wine selection - I mean why have cabin crew train as "wine sommeliers" if you are just going to serve mediocre wines on board?

Bonus - Y Menu

Overall a good flight, I was concerned at first about the pax seated in front with a very small baby & his wife & nanny with the twin sibling, who were in the 1st cabin
I think they managed very well & i hardly heard any crying or fussing from the baby.
Not sure what happened & why they weren't assigned a bassinet seat instead
The pax who were in those seats (11 & 19) didn't have any young children (< 2 yo )traveling with them
They were adults & one or two teenagers - so it seemed like those seating privileges went to the wrong family / travelers
The pax didn't know why & neither did the IFM - while the baby was sleeping, the poor guy couldn't eat nor sleep.
But at least the couple had help from the nanny who came to take over so that he could eat or watch a movie.
