I’ve been to both. I would easily choose the Sheraton. Even with its age. The area is much more spread out and relaxing. The DT is just a “box” hotel on the beach. The Marriott across the street has a nice lounge on the inter coastal waterway.you could wander over there for a cocktail. There is also the park right next door to the Sheraton along the Clearwater pass inlet. Just my thoughts.
