Disappointed to read that footastic. Haven't stayed there for about a year but have several bookings this month. The lounge used to be very well staffed and was a highlight of the hotel. The management need to take a stand on this immediately.
As a guest for decades Its of my opinion the club is still first class however there has been some food quality slippage in quality and variety
which i will say has more to do with cost cutting. The Collins Kitchen is still exceptional overall with some minor caveats

The lounge breakfast is just ok with less selections.
The salmon was inedible on my last stay and was fishy and strong tasting Room service too was the worst ever in the history of the hotel sadly.
I stuck to their excellent Wonton Soup or dined out of house
IMO with regard to Footastics comments the guest experience is simply based on what guests are in house at a given time and anyone can book a room and be there. There is no screening
Most the time the hotel attracts a very nice clientele
I remain a big fan of the hotel and its team most things considered. They have treated me like long lost family for many years.
