Holiday Inn Southampton (UK)

Holiday Inn Southampton (UK)

What is your Priority Club status?

Spire

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?

Yes.

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?

Standard Double, upgraded to an executive double (high floor 8 of 9) with partial sea/port view.

How are the rooms?

Nothing special. Typical Holiday Inn rooms. Big bed moderately comfortable. Shower a bit narrow due to disabled access bar.

How is the exec. lounge?

N/A

What was good and what was bad?

Good

Very pleasant, polite staff. Started at check-in, through to bar staff and breakfast staff.

Status recognised immediately on check in

Upgrade offered without request

Welcome amenity offered as points or drink and snack voucher. Opted for drink, which got me any drink at the bar and a bag of crisps or nuts.

Asked for a 2pm late check-out. Granted without issue.

Everything on the non-cooked breakfast was nice

Central location. Within 5 mins walk is large shopping area with indoor shopping centre. Most major UK stores present.

Very nice, modern cinema within 5 mins walk. Selection of chain fast food outlets (five guys, etc) within complex.

Bad

Parts of cooked breakfast not great (Sausages and bacon not nice).

Shower in room was a bit narrow due to position of disabled access bar

Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?

Very good value, paid £64.

11,180 points awarded through various promotions. Would definitely return if in the area.
