Hello, Paplover, came across this old post of yours just now. I'm moving from Bellingham back to Ireland this summer (flying from Seattle or Vancouver) and am wondering if there is any way to go via a continental city to avoid having to fly my pets (1 cat, 1 dog) as cargo directly into Dublin at considerable expense. International? As far as I know absolutely not, as you have to use the international animal handling centre and animals will have to be freighted. My ex-wife just did this and she had to put our two cats on a separate flight. I have never seen an animal on a trans-con, so I would imagine it's not possible.
