Are there seats that are good regardless of the 787 configuration?

I read that seats in row 1 have more foot space Is that true for both configurations?

How do I tell by the seat map which configuration it is? I know that [MENTION=173660]B747[/MENTION]-347B says we only know 2 days in advance, but how do I recognize whether it has flat or angled seats?
