However there was something new for me, there was a "Deal" option that if you accepted the upgrade for both the legs there would be a discount of 150 euros. So I too both for about 1000 Euros, not the best deal, but as a QR Platinum I will be able to access Al Safwa for the 8 hours layover, which I would not be able to access if I upgraded with my miles.
