450$/night is a lot. My employer (in Sweden) would chase me for an explanation haha. 200$/night is the norm here in my company, stretched to 300$ during very tight booking window. Everybody is chasing to cut costs now.
You must have a very nice contract with your client, Keyser. Good for you. Kudos for getting Brg rates as well when it's your client who pays the bill.
Think I'm gonna plan my summer trip soon, hope to score some Brg rates but I'm not so sure anymore. It was posted earlier that it's more harder to find brg rates. The reason behind that is Marriott and Expedia group has since this fall a contract together
https://news.marriott.com/news/2019/...holesale-rates "
..exclusive global optimized distributor of Marriott’s wholesale rates, availability, and content to a network of global travel providers, effective October 15, 2019"
So yeah it's harder now thanks to this contract.
Also from the article:
"Redistributors will no longer receive access to Marriott rates and inventory directly from Marriott but may contract with Expedia Partner Solutions to obtain access, provided such redistributors comply with Marriott’s distribution standards"
F****ed up isn't? No more free market basically.
"Marriott CEO Arne Sorenson told Reuters that the company was trying to cut commissions for online travel agencies."
