It's an Amadeus Code to indicate there is a request for a non-smoking seat. Obviously all seats are now non smoking. As others up thread you either need to call QR or get hold of the shadow PNR for this EI booking and probably use the EI MMB interface to select a Seat.
Yes this. I've traveled many times with QR and an Airline that they are not in Alliance with (travelling to Canada, pretty much guarantees you have to). Usually in this case the two Airline's systems do not communicate and you have to book seats on the respective airlines websites/Apps. Going off of this, I often cannot check-in online either because of the lack of communication between the two systems. You could still have the same PNR for both airlines, but will have to select seat individually for both.
