I take this mean, if I booked lower J and they only have higher fare J available for a future flight before June 15th, they will still put me in the same cabin.
Yes, that's the correct interpretation. However, that might only apply to the same destination. If you change your destination to HKG, the fare difference could (and in my opinion, should) apply.
