Just arrived in JFK from DXB, I’m a US citizen with GE. Passed thru the new facial recognition GE kiosk fine, the agent collecting the slip before baggage claim asked me normal questions such as- where am I coming from, how long away, did I bring any food back etc. I said no, no food or any purchases, she welcomed me home.

Picked up my one checked bag and was walking out through customs when an agent pulled me aside and asked where I’m coming from, how long I’ve been gone, purpose of travel etc. Then he requests to search my luggage, which he does and finds nothing suspicious because there is nothing.
He then types something into his computer for a few minutes and scans my passport and lets me go.

I just want to know if this will cause any issues for my GE and Precheck moving forward? First time having this random search in my 7+ years of having GE, and countless international trips over the years.
No issues. If anything may increase chance of not needing to interview again at renewal. The agents have to log a certain percent as random. Late/middle last year CBP got called out for not doing these type of random audit things.
