For me it's less about the miles, and more about the tier points (although the miles are important too ... but I'll probably only just squeak by to renew gold this year). You Brits don't get tier points for the biscuits too, do you?
What I don't understand is why sometimes the MFU posts just fine, and other times it does not. I've been trying to figure out a pattern, like booking over the web vs. booking over the telephone, but it's a mystery.
I just came back from an MFU, WT+ upgraded to J. Oddly, the long haul segments actually posted as J/T with the correct miles and tier points being awarded. But, the short haul flights involved posted as C/T - ineligible flight.
Argh. Last month it was a club ticket upgraded to F that posted as F/Z - ineligible flight.
Earlier this year, it seemed that every other MFU would post correctly, but now it's two in a row.
I'm tired of calling the EC to chase these things. On the last one which posted as F/Z, I just submitted the claim on-line as a missing flight. Exactly 14 days later, it was fixed.
So I'm taking the same route on this one.
