DL could have simply refunded your ticket and been done with it. The $200 is a customer service gesture and not linked to other expenses which you may incur. It is also rather generous under the circumstances. It is entirely possible that if you reject the $200 and complain later that you will get nothing.

Check your travel insurance. Although it is unlikely to cover this situation, it is the specific facts which will matter and thus worth the effort.
