I have no idea how airplane food inspection works in Switzerland, or Canada for that matter, but it's pretty scary in the US according to the article linked below. Perhaps the dude should be grateful that his wife only picked up a pebble... In the last couple of years I've basically given up on eating the food catered on board, regardless of the airline, bringing my own instead. My experience on AC has been that even J meals tend to be quite lackluster, and sometimes downright terrifying (moldy salad anyone?). I always order the VGML meal and sometimes it's truly surprising what they come up with--a bowl of pebbles might even be a welcome surprise
