Baggage to final destination on separate tickets

I'm planning a trip that requires two separate tickets:
1) Stockholm (SAS) --> Copenhagen (Air Canada) --> Toronto
2) Toronto (Air Canada) --> New York

Would the SAS agent in Stockholm be able to check my luggage all the way to New York? The last two legs are both on Air Canada.
