I don't think these are isolated cases. I've been to many full service Hiltons in the past year that did not have a lounge open, which may not confirm a system-wide closure, however when comparing Marriott to Hilton for the OP, they are more likely to come across a lounge-less Hilton than Marriott property. Once again, I don't miss the lounges as their offering was pretty lackluster, and I wouldn't mind if Marriott went the same route.
