It reminds me of what Cathay Pacific did to their first class lounge at Hong Kong airport. Cut costs and now its almost empty and they have lost many of their best customers.
So will Marriott, change back to the way it used to be.
Those two hotels have lost me as a customer.
Or when bank's started removing pens to save money, forgetting they cost less than getting new customers!
CX definitely has not cut costs in providing booze, nor the current emptiness (less crowded really, but far from emptiness) is due to cost cutting.
95% of US Marriotts dont provide free alcoholic drinks in their lounges - Some use an honor system with price list and forms for guests to write down their room numbers if they consume some, but that often leads to cheating from dishonest guests. Some has attendant whom guests can ask if they need a drink. Some simply just not provide any for "sale".
Sheraton though has more Sheraton clubs that have free wine and beer, but I have not seen one provides any other than that.
This post is so full of misleading "information" that makes one wonders if this is a troll, given the brand new FT member status.
