What I cannot work out is when points post for Tesco CC transactions. It seems that unlike Amex they post when the transaction hits my CC account rather than at the statement date or the date of payment. Is that correct ?
That is how I understand it - point added as charges made. This was more noticeable when doing coffee / palmier runs because the points jumped by more than the bonus points. I also benefitted this month from a Mastercard-carrying work colleague borrowing my Visa to order £700-worth of Olympic Games tickets, since Visa was the only card they accepted due to their sponsorship deal!
I have never really noticed random points. However, when you have points flying in from Powergen and D&A at random dates it is hard to keep track. The electricals promo also confused things, because goods were only charged and points credited on despatch. We also never got to the bottom of whether Platinum Visa cards got bonus points for tesco.com orders, did we?
By the way,
FF99 - your tip on changing the name on my other clubcard worked fine. It is now showing 'Welcome Mr. RJB' when I log in and I just emailed off an account merger request.
