My understanding is that standard checked baggage has a maximum dimension of 62 inches (length + width + height). That means option one has a dimension of 109" and option 2 has 93". I've gotten by with a few extra inches here and there, but I'd be shocked if the desk agent doesn't get out a measuring tape and charge you a lot for oversized baggage.
According to DL.com, you may be able to pay 60 EUR to check bulky items up to 115 linear inches, which includes televisions.
