i've probably spent over 200 nights at this property over the last 5-6 years & my last stay was the first one i would describe as average....i always interacted with one of the front desk managers & she took care of all aspects of my stay but last month she moved to another marriott property in dubai....she informed me regarding the move but by then i had already booked my stay at the sheraton so i decided to stay here & see how my experience would be in her absence....

for the first time in over 5 years i did not get a suite upgrade when i checked in whereas in the past i was always pre-upgraded to a suite shortly after booking....there was no welcome amenity in the room whereas in the past i was always sent fruits, chocolates, dates, etc, which were replenished daily during my stay....my your24 request was denied for the first time....its also been a week since i checked out & my stay has still not posted to my account....

other aspects of the stay were as they should be....i had lounge access & the staff there is amazing....they all know me & treat me extremely well....room service was good & so was breakfast....i really like the vantage bar & lounge on the 5th floor terrace....the service, food & shisha are all excellent & once again the staff knows & treats me extremely well....i was there all 4 nights of my stay....

since i was traveling alone & was out of the room most of the time, i didn't care much about the lack of a suite upgrade but after staying here so many times i expected my your24 request to be granted & to be served a welcome amenity in the room....at the end of the day this was not a bad stay....in fact, i would describe it as an uneventful stay that i would have at any other marriott property around the world....maybe i have unrealistic expectations but as a repeat guest with ambassador status, i expect a property to do a little more, which this sheraton always did in the past....

my next trip to dubai is at the end of february & its a short one night trip....i'm not ready to give up on the sheraton just yet but for this upcoming trip i'm going to try the other property that the manager has moved to....i already have another trip in march, 2 more in april & 1 in may scheduled for dubai....all those future stays will depend on my experience at the new property next month....
