Not sure where you are flying from, but you can also consider redeeming a HKG-JFK-HND/NRT ticket and a separate HND/NRT-HKG ticket, which will require fewer miles.

So I was trying to do HKG-JFK-HND, and while my HKG-JFK is a direct flight, JFK-HND has a stopover in HKG, but sadly I can't select this one: "Your selected itinerary contains too many open jaws/stopovers/transfers. Please modify your selection. [CLSAPI_ASMI_02_4388]". It would be nice because business is only 90.000 miles instead of 170.000 when I do HKG-JFK-HKG. I could even get first class at 135.000.

How do you normally select a route like that? I'm trying to do June 15 (CX830) to June 21.
