Since it's a family of three, be aware that DL can charge you the UM fee if a kid under 15 is not in the same cabin as an adult, so be careful who you try to upgrade with you. OTOH, I don't think a PM has much chance of getting an upgrade to/from HNL on most flights/dates.
I was hoping for an instant "upgrade" to c+ for all of us. I did not expect to get into first/D1. My son is 4, so he will not be flying alone... we will make sure that at least one of us is seated next to him. If no c+, then I will hope for a set of middle 4 seats for the 3 of us.
